In this project, the aim initially is to investigate numerically the conditions for producing clean vortex rings and the characteristics of a vortex ring free of piston vortex and stopping vortex. After initial reproduction of the results in Das, et al, 20162016​​​, other phenomena such as the interaction of the clean vortex ring produced with the cylinder wall can be studied further. As the vortex ring produced will be a clean vortex ring, such phenomena can be studied in the context of classical theories which do not include the disturbances caused due to stopping vortex, piston vortex, image vortex,etc., which influence the dynamics, kinematics and geometry of vortex rings.
