Synthesis of inorganic polymers containing phosphorus and silicon
Two different polymers P1 and P2 which contain phosphorus and silicon in the main polymeric backbone are synthesized and characterised. The synthesis scheme is based on a simple polycondensation reaction in presence of triethyl amine as base and tetrahydrofuran as solvent. 1H NMR, 31P NMR, FTIR and UV are used for characterisation. Inorganic polymers with phosphorus and silicon are proven for their flame retardant properties because of their synergistic effects and hence provide wide opportunities in future for those kind of applications.
