Some Aspects of Neutrino Oscillations

There are several theories that explain the mysteries of the universe. One of these is the Standard model which forms the basis of particle physics. Neutrinos were also an important class present in the leptonic sector. Initially neutrinos were considered to be massless but soon it was realised that these particles have some mass which was confirmed by the phenomenon of neutrino oscillations. This forced scientists to make changes in the Standard Model. Here in this report I will discuss the various consequences of neutrino oscillations, how various parameters affect neutrino oscillations? I will also discuss the effect of matter on the propagation of neutrinos, how various parameters get altered in the presence of matter and how these parameters will affect the neutrino oscilltion probabilities of different channels. I will also discuss briefly the future implications of the study of this important phenomenon.
