Abstract

Opaque and non-opaque minerals play an important role in the study of mafic rocks. They give an idea about the formation, evolution and their alternation processes. Thus, the purpose of this study is to characterize non-opaque and opaque minerals which later can provide an idea of rock formation and serve as the basis for chemical and isotopic studies. For this purpose few samples from the Indus Suture Zone (ISZ) have been studied and their petrographical and mineral separation technique is performed for identification of the minerals and understand their characters. Some selected separated minerals are further characterized using Raman Spectroscopy. The Geochemical data served as additional information to understand whole rock chemical behavior.
