Abstract

Eukaryotic cells are complex in nature and enclose a wide variety of membrane bound structures collectively called endomembrane system which includes ER, golgi, endosome, lysosome and plasma membrane. The endomembrane system forms a functional and developmental unit by exchanging material by vesicular transport. Specific molecules on vesicle membrane including Rab proteins control the complex trafficking network. Rab7 has been involved in regulation of transport within the endolysosomal network. It also governs transition of early to late endosome, followed by fusion with lysosome. In this study we will check how phosphorylated status of Rab7 affects its localisation in HeLa cells.
